ABOUT THE SERIES
DONKEY HODIE is a puppet series from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures inspired by the quirky, funny side of Fred Rogers. Through character-driven stories full of adventure and imagination, Donkey Hodie and her pals Purple Panda, Bob Dog, and Duck Duck empower preschoolers to dream big and overcome obstacles in their own lives, to work hard and persevere in the face of failure, to discover they are capable of solving problems on their own, and to laugh themselves silly along the way!
PUPPETEER CASTING
Spiffy Pictures is looking to hire puppeteers of all experience levels, including new talent and experienced talent in all forms of puppeteering. If you have professional experience, contact us! If you have a passion for puppeteering but have not yet had a professional role, contact us!

- Your resume or bio
- Your email, phone number and address
- A written answer to this question: Who’s your favorite Donkey Hodie character, and why?
- A signed copy of the RELEASE FORM (Download link below)
- A link to an UNLISTED VIDEO (e.g., YouTube or Vimeo) showcasing your puppeteering skils that is a maximum of 3 minutes long. In the video, please:
- Introduce yourself with your puppet
- Demonstrate a variety of original character voices with your puppet. A combination of scripted and improvised scenes is welcome. NOTE: Please do not use or reference DONKEY HODIE characters or story elements
- Demonstrate your singing voice or your character’s singing voice by having your puppet lip sync a song (or part of a song)
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are seeking U.S. based talent only
- Puppeteers must be 18 years or older
- Filming location is Chicago, IL
- Talent must be a member of, or willing to join, SAG-AFTRA
- As a condition of employment with Spiffy Pictures, all applicants must agree to abide by any and all COVID-19 prevention and mitigation policies set forth by Spiffy Pictures, SAG-AFTRA, and federal, state and local laws
