The Role:
The Research Assistant helps researchers at WWC execute research projects on digital designs and story content for kids ages 3-12. Projects may explore a range of subject areas from math and science to civics and racial literacy. The Research Assistant gets hands-on practical experience with industry research processes from proposal to report. In addition, the assistant has the opportunity to experience the content production and product development process of top children’s media studios.
The paid part-time role occurs 2 days a week for a duration of 3 months. WWC may extend the term depending on performance and need. All work is conducted remotely. While most work takes place during regular business hours, evenings and weekends are required from time to time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews supporting research, strategy or curriculum development.
- Collect and organize study materials and prep researchers for the field.
- Take interview and observation notes.
- Enter and analyze qualitative data and participate in debriefings.
- Assist in creating data outputs, highlight videos, and/or slide presentations.
- Conduct one-on-one interviews, administer surveys, or observe on site or remotely.
- Aid the recruitment of youth, family and educator research participants.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, Measurement or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in education, research or child development.
- Detail-oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing scope and schedules.
