Kim Bowser

Kimberly Bowser has spent her career around storytellers—working in news media, network television, and public media with people who believe in the power of a good story. Having lived and learned across the Washington, D.C. region, Philadelphia, and New York City, her love of writing began early with her first poem in elementary school. A vivid imagination meant she saw stories everywhere: from spotting landscapes in cloudy skies to leading childhood adventures through the woods along a neighborhood creek.

That instinct to tell a good story never left her. Her passion for using words thoughtfully and strategically led her to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism and later an M.A. in communication from Johns Hopkins University. Her career has included supporting business affairs for a popular nationally syndicated talk show and, most recently, overseeing a portfolio of grants at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting supporting independent producers creating thoughtful content for public media audiences nationwide. During her seventeen-year tenure at CPB, she also led the strategy for the organization’s social media presence, amplifying the mission-driven work of local stations and promoting national educational content and initiatives. She is especially known for connecting ideas, fostering strong relationships, and bringing collaborators together around shared goals.
