Designing Interactive Media for Preschoolers with Sago Mini

Jason Krogh is the founder and GM of kids app studio Sago Mini (http://www.sagomini.com). Sago Mini is dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed digital toys for young children. Under Jason’s leadership, Sago Mini has built a reputation for creating best-in-class apps, such as Sago Mini World and Sago Mini School, that millions of families enjoy. Sago Mini operates under the umbrella of Spin Master Digital Games alongside Toca Boca and Originator. Jason has designed and developed interactive media for over 20 years, working with a long list of clients such as National Geographic, Sprout, Disney Jr, Vancouver Olympics, and the Toronto Public Library.

Jason’s talk will cover Sago Mini’s 10-year history making preschool apps with an emphasis on the design principles that are at the core of the products and a few of the lessons learned as the team has grown from 8 to 80+. We’ll touch on the shifting perspectives of kids and parents and the unique challenges of designing interactive media for preschoolers.
